On Oct. 4, over 100 runners, walkers and tot-trotters showed up to support the Starlight Children’s Foundation at Lullwater Park at Emory University for its First Annual Run for the Kids 5k!
The day featured both a 5k race and a tot-trot; a 50 yard dash for the kids. John Tyson and Jennifer Giroux were the overall race winners, with times of 17:01 and 22:42, respectively, but everyone who attended had a great time.
Awards were given out to the top two male and female runners in two age groups* and all of the tot-trotters received a special prize of Play-Dough. With food donated by Publix Supermarkets and drinks donated by Coca-Cola, we made sure all runners were replenished after the race and it is our hope that this event will grow in the years to come!
